Welcome to RAY online youth Platform
Responding to AIDS among the Youth (RAY), a project implemented by KANCO and other partners has been providing youth-friendly services to effectively attract young people.
The program which begun in 2004, has helped in the establishment of Comprehensive Youth Centers in Kware, Mlolongo and Thika aimed at providing quality reproductive health services in community settings. The centers incorporate VCT services, peer education, Income generation, parent-youth communication, outreaches, referral services and provision of information.
This project is implemented through a network-model by six key partners, namely: Kenya AIDS NGOs Consortium (KANCO) which is the principle fund recipient and manager; Kenya Medical Association (KMA), responsible for promoting access to treatment and care for the youth; National Organisation of peeer Educators (NOPE), in charge of behaviour change communication; Kibera Community Self Help Program (KICOSHEP) offering Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) services as well as homebased care for youth by youth; Maendeleo ya Wanawake (MYWO) offering linkages with parents to support youth in behaviour change and HIV care; and Community Capacity Building Initiative (CCBI) responsible for data management and leadership for youth.
